Turning the Page
Good morning friends!
I’ve been sitting on some big news, and today I finally get to share it: I’ve accepted the Youth Services Librarian position at the Greene County Public Library!
This is more than just a career move for me, it’s a move to help in my healing journey. Libraries have always been my second home—the place where I’ve found comfort, stories, and purpose. But sometimes even the places we love most can hold heavy memories. Starting fresh means giving myself room to grow, heal, and reconnect with the reasons I fell in love with this work in the first place.
I won’t pretend I’m not nervous. Change is scary, and part of me aches at the thought of leaving behind the patrons and coworkers who’ve become part of my daily rhythm. But the other part of me feels hopeful—like cracking open a brand new book that you’re so very excited to read.
This new chapter is about possibility. Better benefits, yes, but also a healthier space for me to keep doing what I love: serving readers, sharing stories, and (of course) scribbling poems and stories in the quiet corners.
To everyone who’s been cheering me on—thank you. It means more than you know. And if you’re facing your own new beginning, I hope this is a reminder that it’s okay to turn the page. Sometimes the hardest goodbyes make way for the brightest hellos.
Here’s to new shelves, new stories, and new starts!
